Pine paneling, used to be called notty pine paneling, made from beetle killed pine. The sap wood contains shades of blue, red and purple. Heart wood and knots remains unchanged. The combination results in a very beautiful product when used for paneling.
Saw your article in the Denver Post today and am curious about how the “gamble” paid off? Hopefully well for you. How does this wood work for cabinetry?
We are in the middle of it now. Even with conditions as they are we have continued to experience growth. I think the this wood will work very well for this application. Care need be given to moisture and the normal checking though.

Thanks for the link to the article. It was very interesting. I’ll have to look more into the log home kits, because they sound very affordable. And I love the look of blue pine, especially when used for cabinets and paneling! It just gives the wood an extra design that makes it stand out from other types of wood, and is all natural.
